Alcatel-Lucent and Sagem To Offer Integrated Fax Over IP Solution

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) and Sagem Communications have teamed up to introduce an embedded version of Sagem-Interstar's Fax over IP server technology XMediusFAX within the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Unified Communication suite.

The integrated Fax over IP solution allows users to send and receive faxes directly from their email client, resulting in easier tracking, management and archiving. Using T.38 FoIP technology, which is globally accepted and secure, the all-in-one solution reduces hardware and maintenance costs by eliminating the need for dedicated analog fax lines, specialized fax equipment, maintenance and supplies.

Moreover, the integrated solution offers simplified ordering and enhanced cost structure.
