McLeodUSA Launches Remote Data Storage Solution

 

IP-based communications carrier McLeodUSA, recently acquired by PAETEC (NASDAQ:PAET) Holding, has introduced its new remote data storage solution aimed at small and midsize businesses.

Storage and Sharing enables customers to easily and securely back up, store, and share vital business information, offering increased productivity, as well as business continuity planning and disaster recovery, according to the company.

Providing remote data center capabilities over a hosted network platform, Storage and Sharing features file storage, sharing and restoration, data synchronization, backup, and a virtual drive that can be mapped from a user's PC to the online storage center.

McLeodUSA's "Your Account" self-service portal allows the customer's designated system administrator to control who is authorized to access the storage center or specific files, as well as the amount of storage allocated to each user or group. The product supports individual user accounts for authentication and access privileges.
