Business Objects, Citrix to Offer Simplified Virtual Appliance
Business intelligence solutions provider Business Objects (NASDAQ:BOBJ) has teamed up with leaders in the application delivery space, including Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS) , to offer a pre-installed and pre-configured virtual appliance. Crystal Reports Server XI promises to help reduce deployment time from days to minutes.
Targeted at small and midsize businesses, Citrix's new line of virtual appliances is based on XenSource technology. It allows smaller customers to easily deploy a Business Objects solution and benefit from the flexibility, security, and reduced cost that virtualization can provide.
Customers can evaluate the product through a virtual test-drive. The Crystal Reports Server XI virtual appliance will be widely available in early 2008.
