Chamber Joins Wildfire Relief Efforts
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has sent a team to Southern California to aid in recovery efforts and assess the damages from wildfires that have spread across the region this week.
The Chamber's Business Civic Leadership Center will work with hundreds of local small businesses, along with other groups and agencies, to assist in the disaster response process, organizers said.
"We've learned that disaster response isn't just about saving lives," Stephen Jordan, the center's executive director, said in a statement. "Disasters take a huge toll on jobs and communities."
According to the chamber, U.S. business community has already pledged more than $20 million in disaster aid.
