Self-Made in America
A Lincoln Lawyer From the Bronx
H Byrne
Rochester - NY
I spent my childhood in a tenement in the Bronx. Fascinated by the principles of justice, I fueled my hopes of a new and better life by watching Perry Mason reruns and virtually every variety of law/crime show available. I could not sleep if the bad guy won.
Becoming a lawyer was easier than building a successful practice. My target clients are NOT criminals, evil doers or the ne'er do'wells that populate Court TV but good hard working people who find themselves in difficulties whether it be criminal or civil. The rich can afford the best in representation and the poor have quality legal services available at no cost. However, a lawsuit or criminal charge can destroy the lives of the middle class, even if they are ultimately acquitted.
I would use the prize money in marketing--to get my message out and for educational seminars--to protect themselves and prepare people in the event the worst happens.

Your story is great on becoming a lawyer and teaching others how to protect themselves is important.
