But the game, developed by the University of Auckland, struggled to reach the public until Baltimore healthcare start-up LinkedWellness jumped in, making Sparx its flagship product. This fall, LinkedWellness will be launching the game, which just won a global digital innovation competition, as a cheaper, more effective alternative to drugs for depression.
