2. Chevrolet

Back when GM was struggling to remain solvent, marketing VP Jim Campbell sent out a memo to GM employees demanding they stop using the term "Chevy"--used with affection by the brand's customers--and instead use the official brand name "Chevrolet" in order to promote consistency in branding.
