"Start-up founders are usually young and inexperienced," says Startup Quote co-founder Ray Chan, meaning they may be tempted by the opportunity to "make some quick bucks" before thinking through their decisions' long-term effects.
"People are reluctant to change," Chan says, "We want start-up founders to know that objections are more common than common."
Chan believes too many businesses spend all their time on flashy marketing, instead of "making the products really great." He says, "We want this quote to tell start-up founders what is truly important."
"Money is important, but it should never be the goal," Chan explains. Instead, he says, the goal should be "self-satisfaction."
To explain why he believes a small team is more agile, Chan quotes yet another entrepreneur: "As Seth Godin said, 'Small is the new big.'"
