Airbnb's new round of funding. The New York Times reports that Airbnb, the "Craigslist for the couch-surfing set," (whose founders made it on Inc.'s 2010 30 Under 30) is handling about 10,000 guests a night and will announce $112 million in funding from investors today.

RIM shuffles executives; lays off 2,000 workers. BlackBerry-maker Research in Motion announced it will cut about 10 percent of its workforce, according to the Associated Press.

Facebook's iPad app revealed. TechCrunch's MG Siegler did a bit of snooping over the weekend and found this, Facebook's not-yet-released "spectacular" iPad app.

If we can work from home, why don't we? Derek Thompson at The Atlantic postulates that psychology, rather than technology, is what prevents your employees from becoming truly mobile workers.

Google buys facial recognition company. The Wall Street Journal reported late last week that Google has bought PittPatt, a company "that develops facial-recognition technology for images and video." No word yet on how Google plans to use the software.
