Businesses in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, aren't waiting for federal or state reforms to cut the cost of health care. The "Save on Health Care Business Alliance," written about in today's Business Journal of Milwaukee, has taken matters into its own hands by organizing quarterly educational meetings for employers struggling with what's become a perennial business problem. The meetings are a forum for participating businesses to share their success stories in cutting costs, and cautionary tales on what doesn't work. Meeting organizers have only two rules for participating: no whining and no sales pitches.

According to the article, around 100 businesses show up to share and learn. With 100 employers sharing ideas, businesses are sure to walk away with one or more hands-on strategies to cut health care costs.
