Sales, profits, and growth are all very well. Here's a real business goal for 2006: Making the Wall Street Journal's VIP list.
On Monday, the buttoned-down Journal launched a series of new people-friendly features to liven up its Marketplace section, starting with a daily index of business world newsmakers.
The new "Index of People" will include the day's newsworthy CEOs, policymakers, market innovators, and anyone else "having an impact on business," says managing editor Paul Steiger.
An expanded "Who's News" feature will run alongside the index, focusing on top movers and shakers.
