Wiki + spreadsheet = ?

 

Tired of e-mailing a spreadsheet back and forth between folks in your office? One of Inc.'s very favorite entrepreneurs, Dan Bricklin, is "close to finishing the beta for WikiCalc, an open-source, browser-based collaboration tool that mimics the functionality of a spreadsheet while leveraging the technology of wikis, which let anyone, anywhere manipulate data across the Web," according to this report from CNet. Wikis are the subject of an article in the current issue, which will go up on the site later this month--check back for that on Feb. 21.

Mike Hofman was previously editor of Inc.com and a deputy editor at Inc. magazine, which he joined in 1996. The site was nominated for a National Magazine Award for Digital Media in 2010, and was named the best business website by Folio Magazine. In 2006, Hofman was part of a team of writers nominated for a Webby Award for best business blog. He lives in New York City. @mikehofman
