Here's a glitch that could wreck your day!
Microsoft documents from the Office 2003 version may suddenly be inaccessible to you. A glitch was discovered over the weekend. Some files protected by Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) on Windows Server 2003 are so well protected that not even authorized users can open them.
Microsoft acknowledges the problem and the appropriate squad of engineers are working on a fix.
In the meantime, it's tough toenails. For now, hope you didn't need that file too badly.
By the way, by chance if you get one open; don't be surprised if you can't save it. RMS is not allowing 2003 files to be saved either.
The problem applies to Office 2003 applications; like Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. It does not affect Office 2007 files.
