Blackbery Servers Go Multi-Platform
Me thinks that Research In Motion sees the writing on the wall: Blackberry will ultimately not win the smartphone or tablet wars. Today in Orlando, RIM announced it's Blackberry servers for the enterprise will soon be supporting other platforms, including Android and Apple's iOS.
This could be the right niche for RIM long term. That's not to say that Blackberry smartphones are going away anytime soon. But let's face it, they're getting left in the dust by Android and the iPhone.
RIM's leap into multi-platform support will come from Ubitexx (which it announced it is buying almost in the same breath today at Blackberry World in Orlando).
