The latest figures on online advertising are out from Comscore. In a word, the results are stunning.
1.3 trillion (yes, that's a "t") display ads were delivered to people online in the United States in the third quarter of this year. That's a 22% increase from the same quarter a year ago.
Ready for this part? One in four of them were on Facebook; that's just under 300 billion (with a "b") dispaly ads. As long as we are discussing things in the billions, Facebook is expected to reach two billion in revenues this year. Take that Aaron Sorkin!
Impressive, but make no mistake that Google is still the alpha advertiser here. Google is on pace to bag 2.5 billion in revenues this year.
Even though Google is clear and away the top dawg, there's only one word that comes to mind when considering Facebook's dramatic gain on them.
