Google Ate My Homework

 

This time Google's Gmail wasn't just down. For some it disappeared over the weekend. Google is confirming a small percentage of its users lost not only their email, but folders and contacts too. Yipes!

Here's what I love about a story like this. When Google has something to brag about it uses raw numbers of users, as in 193 million gmail users. When it's a not-so flattering story, it uses percentages; as in .08% of gmail users lost their stuff.

.08% would be one and a half million people and/or businesses.

When you look at this, as Google does, as a percentage of users; it's not a big deal. If you or your business are one of the 1.5 million accounts with lost data; its a big deal.

File this under "you get what you pay for".
