Improve Your Sleep with Zeo

 

For many of us, a good night's sleep can be elusive.  This is why products like the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach are now being created.  With Zeo, you wear a headband with sensors while you sleep.  As you sleep, the Zeo tracks your light sleep, deep sleep, REM, and times of being awake.  With the Smart Awake Alarm option, Zeo wakes you as you are falling out of REM sleep—a time when you are most alert.  When you wake up, a ZQ Score is formulated and can be read on your Zeo.  The ZQ Score represents the quantity and quality of your sleep.  The better you sleep, the higher your ZQ Score.  Zeo has a USB attachment which can be put in your computer to analyze sleep patterns even deeper.  This allows you to pinpoint what is causing good, deep sleep, and what is causing disturbed sleep.

I don't personally use Zeo, but I do think it's a cool device.  I think it would be a good first step for someone who is considering being treated by a medical professional for insomnia.  The Zeo costs around $200, which is much cheaper than being tested for a sleep disorder.  Not that Zeo is a replacement for medical help, of course, but it could serve as a key piece of evidence for your doctor if your sleep is really disturbed.

Personally, I've found that in order to sleep better, I must eat right and exercise.  I believe diet, exercise, and good sleep are the magic trio to a happy, productive life.  I'm proud to say that after taking Ambian for years, I've been Ambien free for about a year because of my lifestyle changes.  Sleep is critical and Ambien can seem like a magic pill if you haven't been sleeping well for a long time.  The cool thing about Zeo is that it analyzes what's keeping you from sleeping well in the first place, thus encouraging you to change your lifestyle.

When I perform well, my company performs well and right now, my company is doing very well.  When a person lacks sleep, their mood suffers greatly.  My job involves dealing with many complex relationships to create a cohesive unit of people.  It's hard for me to inspire unity when I'm in a bad mood and can't think clearly.
