LG Tablet: Don't Wait Under Water

 

LG Electronics announced today that it is shelving plans to launch a tablet with Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo).

Reuters is quoting an anonmyous source, within LG, as saying:

"We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version. We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2,"

It's worth noting that LG booted its CEO recently. The head of the mobile division didn't survive the regime change. I smell a new strategy in the works.

LG is expected to unveil a tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show in January (them and everybody else, I'm guessing). Another anonymous LG source told Bloomberg News that the hardware is good to go, it's the software that is up in the air.

Tick, tick, tick... LG.
