Honest Tea puts a strong focus on promotion from within, and 42 percent of openings are filled that way. It all begins with the Road Warrior internship program, and one-tenth of the 98-person staff got their start as an intern. The company also holds 'crew drives,' a sort of company road trip in which employees travel to a new market to help launch the brand in that area. The company finds that throwing employees into these situations forges a stronger team mentality among the employees.
