The Data
Akraya
Location: Sunnyvale, California
Founded: 2001
2010 revenue: $32 million
CEO: Amar Panchal
Website: akraya.com
Number of employees: 35
What it does: Places employees at engineering, IT, and marketing companies
Akraya likes to celebrate its wins. And not just in a company-wide e-mail or after-work drinks: they do it in the office, with a big bell. Akraya CEO Amar Panchal explains that any time a sales employee gets a new order, or the marketing department gets a press mention, the company operations halt and the bell is rung. "It brings up the energy level immediately," says Panchal. "When everybody else sees somebody else's achievement, they're motivated to achieve too."
