In the entire history of Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, only one attorney has ever left the firm voluntarily. One of the prime reasons behind this otherwise spotless retention record is NFC's extremely flexible work arrangement policy, allowing its workers to achieve a balance between professional and personal lives. Thanks to its technology infrastructure, workers can work remotely; lawyers might only come to work three days a week. "The beauty of it is that on their days off, we don't bother them," says Suzanne Cerra, president of NFC. "If a client needs something on a day where one of our lawyers might be unavailable, somebody else on the team covers for them." Employees don't mind picking up the slack, especially since NFC extends full benefits, such as health insurance and its 401K plan, to part-time employees.
