Did you resolve to attend more marketing conferences this year? Then it's time to get them on the calendar--and away from your desk. Pick a slow month (ok: a less insanely busy month than usual) and book a ticket to one of these top events across the US.
February: Growth Hackers Conference
While escaping the cold is reason enough to book a ticket to San Diego, the Growth Hackers Conference will also provide lot of insight on how to grow your small business. Learn from some of the brightest from companies like ClassPass, Slack, Microsoft, and more.
February 6, San Diego
March: Intelligent Content Conference
There is no shortage of fantastic conferences in March, including heavy hitters like SXSW, Adobe Summit, Advanced Search Summit, the Digiday Marketing Summit and more. One you should look into if you need to fine-tune (or create) your content marketing strategy is the Intelligent Content Conference, which offers courses on how to optimize content for your audience.
March 20 - 22, Las Vegas
April: Social Media Week NY or MarTech West
Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2018, Social Media Week has cutting edge news on technology surrounding social media for brands (think chatbots, AI, and VR), and provides valuable insights into social media trends.
April 24 - 27, New York
If California is more convenient for you, reserve a spot at MarTech West. Overlapping with Social Media Week's timing, this conference explores where marketing and technology overlap.
April 23-25, San Jose
May: Content Marketing Conference
Content Marketing Conference takes a scientific method to content marketing, and is perfect for any analytics buffs who live or die by a strong ROI.
May 2-4, Boston
Expanding your brand's content to video? See what the very best in online video are doing at VidCon, which provides an opportunity for brands to interact with creators, and check out the latest technology and trends in the digital video space.
June 20 - 23, Anaheim
It's not too late to score early bird tickets to MozCon. This conference fills your marketing toolkit with tactics to improve your brand's search ranking and to use data to help in content creation.
July 9 - 11, Seattle
September: Content Marketing World, INBOUND, or AWNewYork
After a break in August (conferences need a summer vacay too!), September is filled with conferences. I attend Content Marketing World annually and try to squeeze in as many of the 120+ sessions and workshops on content strategy, metrics, content marketing trends, and new innovations in branded content.
September 4-7, Cleveland
At the same time, INBOUND brings together sales and marketing professionals to learn about strategies to maximize the customer experience in all facets of business.
September 4-7, Boston
Later in the month, AWNewYork presented by Advertising Week covers all the latest trends in both advertising and marketing, including focuses on marketing technology, experiential marketing, and data-driven marketing choices.
September, New York
October: Inc 5000
Inc celebrates America's fastest-growing companies at the Inc.5000 Conference & Gala, which features impressive keynotes and killer networking. Make sure to add evening wear to your luggage, as the weekend culminates with a black-tie gala.
October 17 - 19, San Antonio
November: Ad Age Next
There are a lot of marketing trends to sift through, and Ad Age Next helps pinpoint which ones are worth the investment. I attended last year and found the insight invaluable in creating 2018 marketing strategies.
November, New York
December: Don't Forget CES in January!
CES is one of the longest standing conferences out there, but it always comes at a really busy time of year--specifically the first or second week of January. So, if you plan to attend in 2019, secure your pass on the early side and set weekly reminders on your December calendar. Because (scary thought) 2019 will be here before you know it.
January 2019, Las Vegas
