I'm a columnist who absolutely loves the world of business to the point that it's often all I talk about. I socialize and attend business events to meet savvy entrepreneurs that are thriving and playing the game of life their way.
Recently, I met a captivating man by the name of Kerwin Rae who is an incredibly successful entrepreneur with several businesses. He has a supersonic mind, survived six near death experiences, collapsed from exhaustion several times over, traveled to every spiritual place on the planet, managed to make and lose millions in business, attended ayahuasca ceremonies, dated model girlfriends, owned fancy houses and driven dream sports cars.
An expert in sales and marketing, he has captured the hearts of raving fans around the world including including Jordan Belfort aka 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.
A true alchemist and humble renegade in every sense of the word. He lives by his favorite mantra: 'Nothing is impossible'. One could never accuse him of living life on the sidelines.
Are you playing the game of life your way or sitting on the sidelines?
My meeting with this entrepreneur offered enlightening life lessons.
1. Every Moment Is A Gift
I would consider anybody who has experienced six near death experiences and is still around to tell the tale - a fighter, a survivor even to go so far and say a miracle. This entrepreneur lives life to the full, never wasting a moment or opportunity.
This is most evident to those that know him and understand his innate ability to help others, his incredible work ethic along with a strong desire to make a massive difference in the world.
Life is mercurial, despite the challenges, twists and turns in this wonderful world. By choosing to believe every moment in life is a gift, we find ourselves inundated with presents.
In turn, we discover inner peace, knowledge, clarity and gratitude as we untie the bow and remove the wrapping paper. When we learn to fully appreciate the gifts we are offered, thoughts of what is missing or considered a void disappear.
2. Learn To Surrender
When death is staring you in the face, not once, twice or three times but time and time again. You quickly learn to become a master at surrendering.
Accepting life and the circumstances you are faced with no matter how difficult, is certainly an art in itself. Knowing that when and if the time is right, you may have to look death in the face and be satisfied with the life you have lived and all that you have done.
When we aim to control every part of our lives, we stagnate life as it blocks the energy, our intuition and the flow of life. Control is an illusion - for this reason it is crucial to learn to surrender.
"Always say 'yes' to the present moment... Surrender to what is. Say 'yes' to life - and see how life starts suddenly to start working for you rather than against you". - Eckhart Tolle
3. Beyond Words
When you met this ebullient man, he has a way of making you feel like you are the only person in the room despite being surrounded by hundreds of people.
Having been in hospital multiple times, this entrepreneur became brilliant at observing and reading people's body language. This has given him vital clues and insights into understanding human behavior and maintaining life long relationships.
Observing non-verbal cues helps you to build rapport more rapidly as you become attuned to others emotions and thoughts when looking beyond their words.
There is a rich tapestry of information behind the words. Start to pay attention and retain your child-like curiosity.
The great Mahatma Gandhi once said:"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever".
There could not be a quote more fitting for this entrepreneur, having evolved at an unprecedented level on both a business and personal front from his many near-death experiences.
This inspirational man helps others to stop simply existing, cruising, and living their life without a purpose. To avoid suffering from addictions and passing time until they arrive safely to their impending death.
For life is about evolution. To truly evolve in life is to push the limits of our potential. It is our reason for being; it is part of our DNA. A big believer of business being a team sport. Experience demonstrates that evolution becomes easier when you surround yourself with a fabulous team.
To summarize, Charles Darwin explains: "It is not the strongest of the species that survives but the most adaptable".
