COPPELL, Texas (AP)--The Container Store Group Inc. (TCS) on Thursday reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of $1.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Coppell, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 4 cents.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 5 cents per share.
The storage products retailer posted revenue of $197.2 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $199.1 million.
For the current quarter ending in February, Container Store said it expects revenue in the range of $222 million to $232 million.
The company expects full-year earnings to be 10 cents to 13 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $785 million to $795 million.
Container Store shares have decreased 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $7.19, a decrease of 65 percent in the last 12 months.
