CHICAGO (AP) -- GrubHub Inc. (GRUB) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $13.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had profit of 15 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 23 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.
The online food ordering service posted revenue of $123.5 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $118.3 million.
For the current quarter ending in December, GrubHub said it expects revenue in the range of $136 million to $138 million.
GrubHub shares have increased 79 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 35 percent in the last 12 months.
