SAN FRANCISCO (AP)-- Square Inc. (SQ) on Tuesday reported a loss of $32.3 million in its third quarter.
The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 11 cents per share.
The mobile payments services provider posted revenue of $439 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $431.9 million.
For the current quarter ending in December, Square said it expects revenue in the range of $438 million to $443 million.
The company expects full-year revenue of $1.7 billion.
Square shares have declined 15 percent since the beginning of the year.
