After a career in traditional public relations and advertising, Jim saw the then-emerging social networks as a marketing opportunity, founding Ignite Social Media in 2007 as the first social media agency created in the United States. The following year his first book, Social Media is a Cocktail Party, was published and helped set the tone for best practices in this nascent industry. In 2013, his second book, Earn It. Don't Buy It. was published and in 2015 he and the Ignite team founded Carusele, the results driven influencer marketing agency. Between the two companies, Jim has worked with many of the world's largest brands, including Microsoft, Samsung, P&G, Nike, Jeep, Walgreens, Revlon, Tyson, Lenovo, ConAgra and Staples. Jim has three daughters and lives in Raleigh with his wife Kathy.
