Scott is Executive Editor, Content Strategies for Inc. magazine, where he oversees the development of custom content and related media, marketing and programming services for Inc.'s clients. Prior to assuming this role, Scott was Executive Editor for Inc. magazine, where he handled a wide range of editing and writing responsibilities, including the management of the Build and Lead sections as well as playing a pivotal role in many of Inc.'s best-known editorial projects (The Inc. 500, Most Audacious Companies, Best Industries for Starting a Business, 30 Under 30, and others). He joined Inc.’s parent company, Mansueto Ventures LLC, in 2012 as Executive Editor of The Build Network, a media/research project aimed at senior leaders of midmarket companies. Prior to that, Scott worked for 12 years at CFO magazine, progressing from Technology Editor and Senior Editor to become only the second Editor-in-Chief in the magazine’s 30-year history. As a freelance writer, he has written book and music reviews, video scripts, personality profiles, and trend stories for more than a dozen newspapers, magazines, and corporate clients across the country. Along the way he has received a number of writing and editing awards from the American Society of Business Press Editors, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, Folio, the Jesse H. Neal Awards, and other groups. He is a graduate of Emerson College, Boston University, and the University of Massachusetts.
