If you had drinks with real estate queen and Shark Tank judge Barbara Corcoran, like Inc.'s Kris Frieswick did in October, she might tell you something that speaks to the heart of those who start their own business: "One of the most satisfying things about being an entrepreneur, if you succeed, is that you're in charge. And that's quite a bit of power, it's as close to being God as you can get in this real world."

On Thursday morning, an audience of women entrepreneurs, investors, and other businesspeople will get their live-in-person chance to hear Corcoran's wisdom when she delivers a keynote speech at Inc.'s Women's Summit in New York City. She'll discuss lessons she learned from growing up poor in New Jersey, building and selling a real estate empire, and appearing on seven seasons of Shark Tank, through which she has invested in nearly 30 businesses.

In the afternoon, Venus Williams will discuss her transition from professional tennis player to founder. Launching athletic-apparel line EleVen and luxury brand VStarr Interiors is sure to be a different game for the newly minted entrepreneur.

Other notable events at the conference include a panel discussion moderated by Inc. editor-at-large Kimberly Weisul, featuring powerhouse founders and investors discussing how women entrepreneurs can get access to venture funding. And Katia Beauchamp, co-founder and CEO of Birchbox, will discuss how to make your business stand out from the pack.

Throughout the event, there will be networking with the likes of author and entrepreneur Randi Zuckerberg, Uncharted Play founder Jessica O. Matthews, and LearnVest CEO Alexa von Tobel.

Be sure to check back on Inc.com on Thursday for full coverage of the event, and follow #IncWomen on Twitter throughout the day.
