Deirdre Quinn knows about finding the right business partners. She scoured the globe, traveling to 70 countries, to find the right manufacturers and suppliers for the fashion companies she worked at for over 10 years. But it wasn't until Quinn met Shun Yen Siu and his wife, Ida Siu, who ran a supplier she worked with, that Quinn felt she had met her match. Together Quinn and the couple founded Lafayette 148, a New York-based women's clothing and accessories company.
"I don't believe that it's me," says Quinn. "I believe that it's us, and if you can build a dream team, you can have the dream."
Indeed, finding the right relationships and learning how to collaborate effectively is essential to building a successful business. That's the key takeaway from this week's episode of What I Know, featuring Quinn.
