Podcasts are super popular now, but keep in mind that audiobooks should absolutely be in your arsenal. Whether driving around my young family or doing other work around the house, I have found audiobooks to be an awesome way to read when I simply cannot.
And there is one audiobook you should listen to every day this year: The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.
It is super simple: The authors take great quotes from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and other forerunners of the stoicism philosophy that prioritizes objectivity, gratitude and humility. Each day you're given a quote and a modern day interpretation. Each entry is less than five minutes. It is small, digestible and infinitely applicable to entrepreneurship, leadership and life.
I grabbed it in Fall 2016 and, in all honesty, it was too enjoyable to listen to all 366 quotes once a day. Instead, I listened to the whole thing over the course of several long listens (it is 10 hours!), finishing, appropriately enough, a few hours before the ball dropped on New Year's Eve.
An hour into the book, I got the urge to send it to some of my favorite people. And an hour before finishing the book, I knew immediately I'd want to start it over again when I was done.
