Have you sent out holiday wishes, interesting tidbits of holiday news, or heartwarming stories on social media this season? (Posts about your sales or products don't count.) If not, give it a shot. When Sprout asked survey respondents what they wanted from the companies they do business with this holiday season, holiday cheer was the single most popular answer, with more than 38 percent saying they wanted such messages.
Customers also want useful content on social media. It's fine to send promotional messages--almost 20 percent of respondents said they wanted those types of messages, as well. However, more than 29 percent of respondents said they wanted either news or educational content. If you're not mixing these kinds of messages into your social media postings, you should.
