The recent cyber attacks at Kmart and J.P. Morgan Chase have businesses on high alert, as hackers continue to pose a significant security threat to companies big and small.

One of the valuable techniques for safeguarding sensitive information is tokenization, where data behind a firewall is assigned to an arbitrarily generated token before moving to the cloud. This way, the only thing that leaves a bank or retailer is the token, not the information itself.
