Social media marketing will play a crucial role in driving sales this holiday season, when U.S consumers are expected to spend a whopping $650 billion.

Nearly 70 percent of brands in the U.S. will invest more in social media marketing during the 2014 holiday season compared to last year, and 92 percent of marketers plan to spend the majority of their social budget on Facebook, according to a survey from social software company Offerpop.
