Most people feel who they go the extra mile are willing to pay the price for achievement, and understand the brutal truths about success. And then there's Paweł Poljański, a pro cyclist on the BORA-Hansgrohe team who is competing in the Tour de France.
Two days ago he posted the following photo, one you won't be able to un-see.
Yep. Those are his legs after almost 70 hours of pedaling nearly 1800 miles, over mountain after mountain after mountain.
As Pawel said:
"After sixteen stages I think my legs look little tired #tourdefrance"
When you think you're exhausted, when you think you're fried, when you think you've done all you can, you always find a little more in you. You are always capable of more than you think.
Of course you may never want to achieve such a low percentage of body fat or such a high degree of vascularity, but Pawel serves as a nice reminder that most of our limits are self-imposed.
Go try harder. You'll be glad you did, because that's when you start to achieve the success you really deserve -- and really want.
