It isn't surprising that Consumer Products & Services was the fastest-growing sector among Inc. 5000 companies between 2010 and 2013. After all, the category included this year's No. 1 company--Fuhu, the Android tablet-maker for kids, which grew a whopping 158,957 percent in the past three years alone. (Fuhu was the fastest growing company in 2013, too.) Consumer Products & Services also benefited from Minute Key, the No. 11 company this year thanks to the crazy growth (14,588 percent over the past three years) of its automated key copying kiosks. The industry as a whole grew 206 percent over the same time period.

Between 2010 and 2013, Advertising & Marketing became the second fast-growing sector at 186 percent, due to Inc. 5000 companies like Showroom Logic (No. 26) and AdKarma (No. 31). Showroom Logic offers automated software tools and custom advertising programs for car dealers' Internet marketing, while AdKarma connects more than 300 publishers to advertisers.
