As difficult as it might be to make the Inc. 5000 list once, it is not uncommon for honorees to get back on the list again (and again). And if Fuhu, the tablet maker based in El Segundo, California, is any indication, it's also possible to top the list two years in a row, too.
Before this year, only one company achieved that feat in the 33-year history of Inc.'s list of fastest-growing private companies (that was energy management company Cogentrix, in 1989 and 1990). Fuhu pulled it off after blasting past the three-year sales growth that made it Inc.'s No. 1 company in 2013. Last year, the company reported $196 million in sales--an eye-popping 158,957 percent increase in revenue from 2010.
Check out the graphic below for stats on how many Inc. 5000 companies were multi-year honorees. As you'll see, only one has made the Hall of Fame--that is, five times on the Inc. 500 list--while 908 made the Inc. 5000 list five times.
