Fall is the time to drag out the wool sweaters, grab a few rakes, and head out to the yard for clean-ups before winter. These powerful lawn products are the ones you want to make the job easier. I've included a reality check for each one before you buy on impulse.
Toro TimeCutter HD Zero Turn Mower ($6,199)
One of the best ways to slice and dice your lawn, the Toro HD Zero Turn Mower uses a new technology called MyRIDE that lets you adjust the suspension. Crank it for a stiffer and flat ride, or adjust for more comfort if you tend to mow over moguls and hills. The 60-inch cutting path means faster mowing and more time sipping lemonade later. Reality check: Small yard? Use a push mower.
Husqvarna 120i Chainsaw ($300)
Don't scoff at a battery-powered chainsaw just yet--this model from Husqvarna has more than enough juice to last through tough jobs, weighs only 6.5 pounds, and has safety features for starting the chainsaw only on purpose. It's an easy and clean way to take care of brush, branches, and tree stumps. Reality check: It won't last all day for tough jobs.
Stihl iMow RMI 632 P Robotic Lawn Mower ($2,000)
A high-end robotic mower that can handle up to an acre lawn, the Stihl iMow RMI 632 P works autonomously--you just have to install boundary markers and away it goes. The iMow has a wide 11-inch cutting path and lasts about 150 minutes per charge. Reality check: No mower babysitting required, but even a John Deere riding mower costs less.
Husqvarna LE 221R Battery-Powered Walk Mower ($430)
With a wide 20-inch cutting path, this battery-powered mower is one of the best ways to take care of leaves in a small yard (the charge lasts about a half acre). It's a walk-behind power mower, but the real benefit is the mulching capability and easy release bagging. Reality check: I've seen self-propelled mowers that runs about half this price.
EGO 56V Lithium-Ion Backpack Blower ($259)
Make short work of the leaves in your yard without the hassle. This EGO 56V model will jettison the leaves from your lawn at a blower speed of 600 cubic-feet per minute. EGO claims this model is much quiet than previous iterations, and the backpack makes it more portable. Reality check: The blower lasts "all day" for small yards; if you have acreage, maybe not.
