Evernote announced a new--and unlikely--partnership today.

The wildly popular productivity app will partner with Moleskine, the famed maker of notebooks and stationery, to produce pen-and-paper notebooks optimized for digital life. 

“We are bridging paper and digital,” Moleskine chief executive Arrigo Berni told VentureBeat.

The notebook is called the Evernote Smart Notebook, and it was created for the latest Evernote iOS app. After jotting down their notes, users can create digital versions with the app. According to an Evernote blog post, a dotted pattern covering the notebook’s pages corrects distortion and removes shadows in the photographs.

The project marks one of Evernote’s recent moves to broaden its identity as a storehouse of notes. The company announced plans to roll out Evernote Business in December on Aug 24.

“Our definition of who we are keeps expanding,” said CEO Phil Libin an Evernote Trunk Conference in San Francisco. 

For $10 per month, the product will allow employees at small and medium sized companies to create and share notes through a company-wide sharing system. Earlier in July, the company launched its Developer Voice Program to provide mentoring to Evernote partners and developers.
