It's officially hip for companies to try to do good in the world at the same time they try to make money. Across the U.S. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are rising in popularity. And it's not just about polishing a corporate image with consumers (though that's undoubtedly a benefit). Giving back to the community in a variety of different ways is also a pretty effective way to recruit and retain employees, who increasingly want their jobs to have a meaningful impact.
