If you're looking to hire, you should consider that many job candidates will be looking for your listing on their mobile devices.
The results come from an online survey of 1,000 employees and job seekers that Glassdoor conducted in April. The findings also reveal a little bit about why prospective applicants are increasingly searching for jobs on their phones and tablets.
Fifty-nine percent of respondents said they think they have a better chance of being considered for a job if they apply as soon as the job is posted online. In this regard, just as many responded that it's important that they have a way to save a job listing on their mobile device so they can later apply on their computer.
Along with just browsing for job listings, this appears to be the most popular reason to use mobile devices during the job-search process. Otherwise, at least a third of job seekers are using their hand-held devices to do some form of research--for instance, read reviews, look up salary information, or familiarize themselves with recent company news. About 20 percent of respondents actually apply right from their mobile devices.
Glassdoor concluded that, unfortunately, lots of companies are missing the opportunity to attract applications from top talent because they lack a site designed with mobile in mind. Thirty-eight percent of those surveyed said they find that many career sites and applications aren't optimized for mobile.
