I'm disappointed that you allowed Tom Richman to print such a sarcastic article about Joe Sugarman ("Joe Sugarman: Free Enterprise Hero?" National Affairs, January). Joe Sugarman is a man of integrity and deserves a large measure of respect for his conviction to principles. Tom Richman's immature sarcasm is a disgrace to your publication and an insult to the spirit of small business. Mr. Sugarman has brought a lot of integrity into the mail-order business. Richman's disrespectful comments are a direct insult to all of us in the industry. Joe's fight with the FTC is a delicate issue, and INC. shouldn't treat it with such irresponsible mockery. I think you owe Joe Sugarman an apology and a more responsible investigation. But more importantly, how about a little support?
