We have seen the future, and it comes in an attache case -- or so Murray Lubliner would have us believe. Lubliner, a partner in the New York-based consulting firm of Lubliner/Saltz Inc., believes that the era of the portable office is just around the corner. "I read an article recently about competition for desk space" at some companies, he says. "Well, pretty soon, the topic will be the competition for attache space."

To illustrate the point, his firm has put together an office in an attache case, complete with microcomputer, dot matrix printer dictating machine, cassette player/recorder calculator, camera, remote pocket coder for telephone access, stapler, pens, and so on. The question is: Can anybody lift it?
