I very much enjoyed your story on networking; coincidentally, I have recently authored one myself.
A couple of minor points that you might want to consider: First, your article seemed to ignore some of the long history of networking. For instance, what you call a breakfast-group meeting to exchange business leads has been around for at least 40 years in this area. Many groups meet weekly for lunch to exchange business leads. In the past 10 years, other groups have done the same in an all-female format with a national organization. Second, you seem to focus on the upper crust of networking groups. There are many more groups at a more affordable level, which involve many more people.
