Did I have a bad dream, or was "Follow the Leader" a Woody Allen parody on marketing?
This article can't be taken seriously. Suggesting that marketing is only an activity to promote sales shows little understanding of its role. Falvey doesn't identify marketing's first objective -- to determine the needs of the target market. The writer's misguided penchant to manipulate customers through promotion is a major error. He also ignores such functions as marketing planning and marketing research.
