Small business has a reputation for moving quickly and taking risks. But according to a survey by O'Reilly & Associates, large companies are more likely to be riding the Internet wave. And it's not just the Web we're talking about here. The 1,030 businesses surveyed were asked if they had E-mail access also. Internet connections were far more common among large companies than among small ones.

Current Internet access No plans for access
1,000+ employees 51% 28%
100-1,000 employees 25% 33%
100 employees or fewer 8% 79%
