Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ:RVBD) has introduced its new Riverbed User Group Program, which expands the company's customer community forum to provide year-round and regional support. Riverbed will host or sponsor regional forums so users can share best practices and expertise, as well as exchange ideas and product information.

Riverbed users worldwide will be able to participate in presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on labs covering the new features in Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS) and Steelhead Mobile. The first forum in the series was held in the San Francisco Bay Area last month, where IT professionals gathered to discuss technical issues around WDS and were given an overview of Steelhead Mobile and Central Management Console. Additional User Groups are expected in London, Toronto and Miami.

"Riverbed's community programs are a solid foundation for users to learn best practices and optimal uses of Riverbed products," Bob Gilbert, the company's senior marketer, said in a statement. "Most importantly, the communities and gatherings we've built, such as the WDS Forum, User Groups and our global ACCELERATE WDS conferences, are most valuable for our over 3,000 customers, our partners and the industry to network and get the latest WDS thought leadership."
