Dec. 7, 2006 -- Online recruiting picked up in November as employers rushed to complete year-end hiring efforts, Monster Worldwide reported Thursday.

The gains, which were the highest since Monster began tracking online job ads in October 2003, also reflected higher demand for seasonal jobs in holiday-related industries, such as transportation, shipping, and warehousing, the report said.

On a year-over-year basis, however, online job demand grew by 17.4 percent, the slowest rate in three years, the report said.
