Dec. 13, 2006 -- Sales at the nation's retailers rose 1 percent in November, the first increase in more than three months, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.

Retail sales for the month were $368.9 billion, a 5.6 percent increase from the same period last year, led by stronger sales at electronics and appliance stores, building materials and garden equipment dealers, and gas stations, the report said.
