OneBeacon Insurance Group (NYSE:OB) has introduced the Employment Practices Liability insurance solution to its small-business customers. As part of the OnePac package, the cost-effective new solution is available to businesses with 50 or fewer employees in 23 states, with more states to be added.

Employment practices liability insurance covers employers for allegations of wrongful termination, discrimination, or harassment, including sexual harassment. In addition to the new product, OneBeacon has launched, an online risk management tool to help employers avoid claims altogether.

"Federal and state laws set standards for treatment of employees that actually protect both workers and employers," Mike Keane, head of OneBeacon Small Business, said in a statement. "Yet, because these laws can be very complex, it's possible for even the most conscientious employer, or someone on their staff, to inadvertently violate their requirements - potentially leading to significant claims."
